Bachelor program

First Year

The First Year consists in improving the general audio-visual culture, through daily lessons, master classes, seminars, exams in theoretical subjects and practical audio-visual rotation practice exercises. Each student gets involved in the rotation process covering one crew position at a time.

Total minimum number of hours theory & practice is 900 hours, with a minimum of 60 Credits.

The lessons are held in groups of 10 to 15 students, as well as individually. The student presence is mandatory, verified and evaluated.

Second Year

Second Year of studies begins with choosing the departments. Students having passed all the first years exams and practical exercises are received in the second year and can chose the department.

Third Year

The third year is the Graduation year. Students in third year have to produce a 20 minutes short film exclusively with AFMM technical facilities and technology, in real production conditions. The films is shot in BlackMagic Cinema Cameras, Super 16mm, P+S Technik Mini35 & HDV Digital Film Equipment and Zeiss Digital Film Lenses.

The Diploma Short Film can be of any gender, including Videography.  Students use exclusively the school equipment and facilities. Each student graduates regarding the chosen profile in beginning of second year. The technical crew has to be exclusively from AFMM students, and they can work with professional actors. A professor from AFMM Academic Structure will be the leader of the project, and will follow and assist the whole production chain.

The copy 0 (master or negative) of the shorts remains the School’s Propriety. All the rights are reserved to AFMM in the quality of the producer. Students have the right of one DV or HDV copy of their films. AFMM has exclusive rights of distribution or diffusion of its students’ films. Any price or income from the film circulation in festivals is considered as a direct profit of the student or of the students technical crew. Any trophy or certificate won by a student’s film remains at the museum of AFMM.

Graduation

After the graduation and the diploma film evaluation, the student will receive the Bachelor Degree in Film and Media with the chosen Profile:
